ABOUT ME
KEVIN BURKE
I've spent more than 20 years making commercials, campaigns, brands, films and occasionally things that are difficult to explain in meetings.
I'm a Creative Director, writer and director who's had the good fortune to make work for brands like Mattel, Coca-Cola, Razer, Chipotle, KFC, Ubisoft and LG, alongside musicians, creators, gaming organizations and a handful of wonderfully weird startups.
I still love being on set more than just about anywhere. I love the weird idea. I love finding the extra beat that makes a joke work. And I love working with talented people who can take an idea somewhere I never would have found on my own.
That's probably the biggest thing I've learned about creative leadership: your job isn't to have all the answers.
It's to create an environment where people trust their own imaginations enough to find better ones.
Somewhere along the way, I also spent three years self-financing, directing and editing a feature documentary called 24x36: A Movie About Movie Posters. It premiered at Fantastic Fest and eventually found worldwide distribution. Nobody asked me to make it. I just thought it should exist.
That pretty much sums up my relationship with creativity.
